Daniel Hillier has moved inside the top-50 on the Challenge Tour Rankings following a tie for 38th finish at the Range Servant Challenge by Hinton Golf in Sweden.
Hillier has carded rounds of 67, 70, 73, and 73 at the Hinton Golf Club to finish five-under for the tournament, 17-shots back of the runaway winner Craig Howie.
The reigning Jennian Homes Trophy champion set overseas a couple of weeks ago to take up some starts on the Challenge Tour to fulfill his ambition of playing on the European Tour next year.
The top-20 in the Challenge Tour rankings at the year’s end will gain full status on the European Tour for 2022. Hillier has moved up into 46th after being in 55th position after last week’s event.
He’s set to tee off at the Dormy Open also held in Sweden later this week.
Nick Voke has shot up 15 places on the leaderboard after his final round at the Visit Knoxville Open to finish in a tie for 51st.
Voke carded rounds 67, 71, 71, and 67 to finish at four-under for the tournament, 16 shots back of champion Greyson Sigg.
Voke equaled his best round of the week with six birdies and three bogeys to leap up the leaderboard but will fall two places in the Korn Ferry Tour’s season-long race The 25 to 86th. The top 25 earn status on the PGA Tour for 2022.
Steve Alker finished in a tie for 70th in the same event after a forgettable final round.
Alker has shot rounds of 66, 70, 69, and 75 to finish at even-par for the tournament.
Finally, Josh Geary has finished in a tie for 62nd at the Betfred British Masters on the European Tour this week.
Geary accepted a late call up in one of the more significant events on the European Tour held at The Belfry in England and only had a couple of days to prepare after leaving the weekend prior.
The Bay of Plenty based professional continued his solid form shooting an opening round 70 and 72 to be in a tie for 26th after two rounds and make the cut.
He carded a third round of two-under but fell down the leaderboard on the final day after a round of five-over.
Geary finished at one-over for the tournament and will travel to Sweden to play in the Dormy Open alongside Hillier.
